First game of ALCS goes to... Boston Red sox!

Beckett helps Red Sox crush Indians 10-3 (AP) That Josh Becked is very good!  So them Boston Sox take game one.

Game one of NLCS goes to... The Colorado Rockies!

Bottle throwing by some diamondback's fans wasn't cool.  Good start to the series!  We shall see from here where they go...

Tuesday, October 9, 2007

Yes! They did it!

Indians eliminate Yankees with 6-4 win (AP) Whoohoo!I must say on the behalf of the yanks though, that they made it a very interesting game, and kept me on the edge of my seat during parts of the game.  Especially in that 9th inning.  Congratulations Cleveland Indians!  Now off to face

Sunday, October 7, 2007

Oh, them Yankees!!!

Today we sat around, and watched games.  Football, then at 3, I went and  watched baseball.

Well these are the results...

It's all sowed up for the national league championship series. The

Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks will compete for the National Championship series.  That series begins on Thursday at 8 Eastern.

Red Sox win there series with the LA Angels.  So the Boston Red Sox advance to the National championship series.

The only game to go into more than 3 games however, is the New York Yankees, and the Cleveland Indians.  Yankees took game 3, so the series continues tomorrow at 6 Eastern.  Damon, Yankees rally to force a Game 4 (AP)  A-Rod, Yankees break out of slumber (AP)

I had hoped the Indians would win that one, but the Yanks must win the next 2 to make it onto the next round.  Hopefully they will not, lol.

More on Indians, Yankees

Rockies and the Diamondbacks, who will take the national league championship, and a shot at world champion?

So that's it!  The Rockies, and the Diamondbacks are going to fight for the national championship, and for that all important spot and the ultimate prize, the world series, for a shot at the world championship series.

Our Tigers aren't in it, so I have picked my team.  After watching all of the series, I have seen them all, and I'm rooting for the Rockies to take it all of the way!  Go Rockies!  They won me over in there wildcard tie game with the padres.  Anyway, go,, get it done Rockies!  It should be a very good series with those 2 teams though!

When Grandma dyed...

Grandpa dyed on may 4th of this year.  This is about when Grandma dyed.

When Grandpa dyed, mom, aunt Deany, and aunt Rose were with him.  He dyed at home with 3 out of his 4 children.  He got to dye the way he wished to dye, at home.  We were all very glad about that.  Mom was in the room with him when he dyed, cleaning.  Then Aunt Rose came in from another part of the house, and she realized he was gone.  He wanted so much to dye at home, and they made sure he did.  He had hospice the last few months.  I'll have to write more about that situation in here some time later on.  But for now, this is the post I wrote about when grandma dyed.

Oh, one more thing, my great nephew is Keegan Richard.  Ashley is due with another one in December.  That one is expected to be a girl.

Grandma

Okay let's try this again lol.  I just tried this a few ago, and MS word decided it was going to give me trouble lol.

I have a lot to tell about.  So since Ash was the last subject I wrote about in here before I took my 4 month break from here, I shall start out with her.

Ash had her baby on October 16th!  She had a little baby boy!  So they were wrong. lol.  It turns out that about 2 weeks before the ultrasound the ultrasound technician said it was a boy, and that she could see that it was a boy.  My mom, and my brother-in-law's mom, and his sister didn't believe it.  They didn't think it looked like that at all.  However, that lady was correct.  He is a baby boy.

She named him Keegan, and this is awful, his middle name has escaped me.  I'll have to ask Beth or Ash again what he weighed at birth again.  I knew it, but am not sure of it now.

Grandpa Joe had to have his other big toe amputated last month.  He seems to be doing okay right now.  He's out of the hospital, and has been for a few weeks now, and Joe tells me he's doing well.

My grandma dyed on December 3 2006 at around 4:15 in the morning.  We had only known for a week and a half that she even had cancer.

Mom had gone down there to visit grandpa's cancer doctor in early November.  Every 6 months he has a checkup with that doctor, and mom has always gone down there and taken him to these appointments.

She came back after being down there for a week.  After being back for not even a week, she had to return.  She got back here on a Sunday, and by Friday she had to drive right back there.  Grandma was having really bad pain in her back.

At first they thought it was osteoporosis, but it turns out that it was cancer.  They had done a bone scan, and upon viewing that scan, they wanted to check for cancer.  Something like that anyways.

Mom told me the day before thanksgiving that she had cancer.  She had not told my grandparents yet, but she did that night.  I felt so bad for her!

Grandma dyed in the hospital.  She had wanted to dye at home, but God had other plans.  They put her in the hospital for pain management.  They were going to be bringing her home on the day she dyed.  She dyed early in the morning, and the plan was to bring her home sometime during that day.

Grandma took a sudden turn for the worst Saturday around 4 in the afternoon.  This is what I was told.  My brother called me and told me mom had called him crying, and hyperventilating.  He said she could hardly breath when she called him, and she said "rich we're losing her, we're losing her!"  Man I felt bad!

When I got off of the phone with Rich, I said to Greg "I feel sick."  I knew it wouldn't be long, I had that feeling ever since I heard      she was sick.

My aunt Deeny, Beth, and I drove down there starting at about noon that day.  It has been hard times here.

I feel so bad for mom.  She was her mom.  The grand kids will miss her, but she was the mother to my mom and aunts and uncle.  It must be awful for them.

Grandpa, well it must be even worse for him.  She has been his lifetime partner.  They were married for 58 years.  It would have been 59 had she lived until there anniversary on February 28th.

Grandma was Rosetta May Finley (maiden name Jackson).  She was 78 years old when she dyed.

Grandpa is 84, and he is not taking her death well at all.  He talks of giving up.  We're all really worried about him right now.

Well that's all for now.  I'm gonna get going.  We have our MT class at 10.  I woke up at a little before 7 and couldn't sleep.  I got to bed around 1:30.  If I need to I can take a nap later on.  I just don't see any reason to lay back down with class so soon.  I had thought I would check out the zone then go back to bed, but after being up a while, I began to think that is a bit of a stupid idea.  Well I will write more later on.

Prayers for the Rocky cat!!!!

This was a post I put in the other blog about the Rocky cat!  Unfortunately we had to have him put to sleep on June 25th of this year.  It was really difficult for Greg, and I.  Greg was really close to the Rocky cat.  However, he had been so sick for over a year, and his steroids weren't helping him any longer.  He couldn't eat, and was starving himself.  When he did try to eat, he'd throw it up.  So it was time.  We loved him, so we had to send him back to God.  It was hard because he was so young, but we had to give him back to God early.  Maybe he was too good for this crazy world, and God wanted him back earlier than most?  This is a post I wrote about him and 1 time he was really sick.  This was the very first time he was so sick, that I truly didn't know that he'd make it.  He did that time, our vet pulled him through that time.  It was bad though.

Prayers for the Rocky cat!!!!

I've written in here about the Rocky cat being sick a few times.  It seems that things have gotten worse now.  Worse than ever.

He would go about every 2 to 3 months for veterinary care for not eating, diarrhea, and vomiting.  He had to spend nights there, 2 or 3 nights, but they always brought him back.  The last few times this happened the steroid shot was enough, I was able to bring him home.  After a few days he'd eat on his own.  At first our vet believed it to be a nasty virus, but after it kept going on, they determined it to be inflammatory bowel disease.

They have been giving him a steroids shot since October.  Well last Tuesday they had to give him that shot again.  Well after 2 days he still wasn't eating.

We took him in to the Animal hospital all of the animals go too Thursday night.  Well, they kept Rocky.  We decided to have them run a urine analysis, an ex-ray, and do a blood work up on him.

The ex-ray shoed his intestinal wall to be inflamed, but that was all.  Probably because his intestines are inflamed, that was no shock.  Then the blood shoed he may have pancreatitis.  DR. Erman did tell me the steroid shot he had had on Tuesday could mess up the blood results.  The Poor Rocker!!!!  Rocker!!!

On Friday he had not eaten for them.  Well, when I called this morning DR. Erman told me he was allowing them to force feed them.  He said he wasn't resisting them from feeding him, but he was showing no interest in eating on his own.

It doesn't look good for the Rocky cat right now.  I'm supposed to call and talk to the vet tomorrow.  I'll write and tell what the vet tells me.  The hope is that he'll begin eating on his own.  Oh how I hope so!  I won't let him starve though.  We'll hope he will get better.  Even if things look glum now, we can still hope for the best.  We're saying lots and lots of prayers for the Rocky cat!  Rocker!  Our little Rocker!!!

Posts from a previous blog.

I'm going to begin posting stuff from my previous blog that I had.  I've started fresh, but I want to put some of the things that were in the other one in this one, to preserve some of the stuff that I had in the other one.  So I'll start with the next post, and add explanations to the top of posts when necessary.

Cleveland on top! for now...

Okay, now awesome, Indians take game 1.  A good start!

Cubs are currently ahead in that game with the diamondbacks, 2 nothing.  Still early on in the game...  We're in the bottom of the 2nd.

Whoohoo! yay!

Matsui's slam gives Rockies 2-0 lead Rockies win!  So, they got good odds in there favor!

Now we're listening to the damn Yankees, and The Cleveland Indians, and the damn Yankees have a 1 nothing lead in the bottom of the first.

Grand slam!

Rockies score a grand slam on the top of the 4th!  6  Rockies Phillies 3.

Rockie's, Phillies score...

In the top of the 3rd, currently we got 3 Phillies, and 2  Rockies.  Now there about to start the 4th, 3rd just ended.  Go Rockies!

First round of MLB playoffs!

I'm currently in my medical transcription class, and yes I'm being really bad, and I'm writing in this blog while we're in class.

I take a medical transcription class, and we are taking it from a blind woman, who herself has been a transcriptionist for like 26 years.  Now she just teaches it, she doesn't actually transcribe herself now, but she does however, keep up on her transcription stuff, which is constantly changing.  Especially the medications and things.  Terms, well, for the most part they stay the same.  However, in that area, things still do tend to change somewhat.  She calls her class

Medtrans Class.

Yesterday Greg and I watched the first round of the Major League baseball playoffs. D-backs, Red Sox, Rockies win openers (AP) We're not finished yet with the first round, today at 6:30 Eastern time the Cleveland Indians square off against the NY Yankees.  The Indians, and the Yankees had the day off yesterday, and opted to start a day after the others started there opener.

All of the games went the way I wanted them yesterday, except for 1.  Of course the

Detroit Tigers aren't in it this year, so I am not as excited about these teams as I'd be if my Tigers were in it!  However, I have picked who I'd like to win round 1 of these playoffs.

We'll start out with the first game. between The Colorado Rockies, and the

Philadelphia Phillies.  Greg, and I are both rooting for The Colorado Rockies.  Game one goes to...  The Colorado Rockies!

Game 2 of the triple header yesterday, was between

The Boston Red Sox, and

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  Greg and I are not rooting for the same team on this one though.  He's rooting for

The Angels, and I am rooting for The Red Sox.  Game 1 goes to...  The Boston Red Sox!  So far, so good on the first 2.

Game 3 of the double header was between:

The Chicago Cubs, and The Arizona Diamondbacks.  I am not sure who I want in that one.  Greg doesn't care about that one, and me, well, I was saying the Cubs
, because I have a friend that is a huge Cubs fan.  However, it was cool to see how well the Diamondbacks play as a team.  So that one, well, whoever takes that one, I suppose that'll be cool.  Game 1 of that one goes to...  The Arizona Diamondbacks!

I'll come back and tell more about today's games later on.

Game over, goes into 13 innings!

I'll paste a bit below about the game...

Rockies rally in 13th, win NL wild card

By ARNIE STAPLETON, AP Sports Writer 4 minutes ago

DENVER - In a season that needed an extra day, Matt Holliday and the Colorado Rockies needed extra innings to pull off the most dramatic comeback of the year.

Holliday raced home on Jamey Carroll's shallow fly ball, capping a stunning, three-run rally in the 13th inning against Trevor Hoffman and leading the Rockies over the San Diego Padres 9-8 Monday night in a tiebreaker for the NL wild card.

"It's been an incredible run from game 1 to game 163," Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said.

After Scott Hairston's two-run homer put the Padres ahead in the top of the 13th, Colorado came back against baseball's career saves leader.

The Rockies, who won for the 14th time in 15 games, took the longest one-game tiebreaker in major league history. They advanced to play Philadelphia in the first round starting Wednesday.

So that's that!  Whoohoo!  The playoffs should prove interesting...

Greg loves his New England patriots, and this game in the NL that we rarely watch (Tigers are in the AL) was so interesting to him, that he told me not to turn it to the New England game, lol!  I thought that was pretty darn cool, lol!  Anyways, it was all baseball here tonight!  Playoffs start on Wednesday, and there are 3 games, whoohoo!  There'll be more where tonight came from!

Extras

The game has gone into extra innings.  We're now about to begin the bottom of the 10th.

Our pick

Still tied at 6 6, however, I forgot to add to that last message that me and his Gregness are both rooting for the Colorado Rockies.  Go Rockies!  Not our favorite team or anything, however, we'd rather see them than San Diego make it this year.  Padres have made it to the world series, and Rockies are an expansion team, that we don't believe has made it there yet.  We're in the 9th inning.  Go Rockies!

Rockies, Padres play it out for playoffs!

Greg and I are listening to the Colorado Rockies and the San Diego Padres right now.  They had a tie for the wildcard in the NL.  So this is to determine the winner.

Both sides are playing hard!  It is currently tied for the second time, at 6 6.  I'll come back and tell what happens at the end.

about me...

Hey,
This is Vicki, starting a new blog. Actually, I started it back in August, but I am redoing some things, so I'll paste the posts that I've already put in here, and then delete the old ones, cause there's some things I wanna change. Okay, now for the first post I put in here, that was about me... It's below.

An Intro, to me...

This is a new blog for me. It's not the first one I've created, but I thought I'd start new here. Seeing this is my first post, and my house mate and friend is waiting to use the computer for his nightly zone chat, I shall make this one a short one.

I'll just tell a little about me in this first post. I'm 35, born on February 25th, 1972. I am 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and approximately 175 LBS. I am visually impaired, and am pretty much totally blind in the visually impaired category. I see light and shadows, but that's about it.

My interests include, the study of other cultures, Surfing the web, singing, reading, swimming, walking, history, and politics, watching pro Baseball and Football, and animals! My favorite area to learn about is the Middle East, but not limited to that. I just love history, and politics in general. Have since a fairly young age. I know for some it's boring, but it is necessary to run the world, however corrupt it may be, and I won't argue that it is very corrupt.

I have 3 cats. I have Tango, a black cat, and he is 5 this month. He came from a shelter, so not sure of the exact date. Sagwa, a Siamese, who is 4 this month, (also not sure of his exact birth date as he came from a shelter as well). Then the baby, and his name is Lucky, and he's multi colored. Lucky is 8 months old, and was born on December 2nd 2006. So he's the baby of the bunch. I rescued Lucky, and it was my first such experience with that particular way of obtaining a cat. I'll have to tell about that in a future post.

Oh, in the interest category, a summer show we're into, me and my house mate, a friend got us into it, it's called big brother. It's big brother 8 actually. It's on the CBS network. We didn't start watching it until BB 6 though. However, one of my favorite shows of all time is American Idol. That starts in January. My favorite of last season was Melinda Doolittle, however, the others in the final 3 with her, Blake Lewis, and Jordin Sparks (the winner) were my second faves. Hopefully Jordin, Blake, and Melinda all 3 will have prosperous careers.

I also love Baseball, and Football. I didn't when I was younger, but I really do now. Some friends helped me understand Football, and I've gotten more into Baseball as well in the last year. As Baseball is ongoing now, my team is the Detroit tigers! Go Tigers! They lost to the darn white sox tonight, grrrr! If the White sox can win it tomorrow, they'll sweep this particular series! No!!!! We shall see tomorrow. Go Tigers!

Well, I shall go for now. I want to add some links that are favorites of mine to the top of the blog template, but this may not happen for a while, as I have to work on the HTML code for that. I have it written down how to do it, but shall look at it some time soon, hopefully, God willing. This concludes my first post. Until Later…

Posted by Vicki at
6:53 PM

Okay, now onto a post I did after that one, and the last one in this particular blog. I have another blog that I plan to paste in here at some point, so all is not lost from that blog I had for like 2 years. Anyways, here is the last one I did in here for ya. I'm re putting these in here because I'm editing a bit from them. Well I was editing the first one, so maybe I won't. Perhaps I'll leave that one in here, and just make this one the second one. Lol, gotta change the subject in here. Lol.

Well, this concludes this post. I guess I'll make this one the second post. Here goes... Sending this one off...

Tigers win!!!

7:24 PM

The Tigers are currently playing the Tampa Bay devil rays, and there down  one run.  It's 1 nothing Tampa bay, bottom of the first.

time now: 8:51 PM

Well, the tigers were ahead at one point, they were ahead 2 to 1, until the devil rays scored 3, and now it's 4 devil rays, 2 tigers!  Gur!!  What can ya do...  6th Inning now...

Watching the game on FSN (fox sports net Detroit) and doing laundry.  Nothing exciting.  Gotta scoop cat litter soon.  Probably after the game.  Update in a bit...  Be back...

time: 10:05 PM.

Top of the 9th, Tigers 6, Devil rays 4.  Gotta go and put towels in drier.

time: 10:07 PM.

Just as I was walking to get the towel basket that is still up here to take it down, and put the load in the drier, game over!  Tigers win!  Struck them out, 1, 2, 3!  Whoohoo, tigers win!  They needed this win!  Now onto the towels...

Well, of course, Greg and I were wrong, there not done yet, lol.  So, I'll finish this entry, so his Gregness can use the computer.  His Gregness, well that's a name they call people on the zone.  Like some people on there have referred to me as Her vickiness, lol.  Just a little immaturity we do on there.  A lot of the folks on there are actually fairly young; many of them are in there low to mid 20s.  Not to say I can't be immature, I like to keep some child in me, lol.  You gotta to have fun in life in my view.

My stomach is all upset currently, and I can't seem to find my purse, and it has the medicine I use when it gets like this in it.  I think I may have left it in my niece, Ashley's car.  I hope that's where it is anyways, I can't find it anywhere around here.  However, one never knows, maybe my blind ass just can't locate it, and that would not be anything new, lol.

I put the second load of towels in the washer, and the others that I talked of earlier in the dryer.  I'll go to bed soon.

Lorenzo, Greg's best friend is coming to visit us for nearly 3 weeks on Friday.  He's slated to arrive at the airport here at around 10 in the PM.  So we should have a lot of fun.  Lorenzo is sighted, and he's already reserved a car for his stay here.  We have a number of things we want to do.  I want to go and pick up my friend Maryanne and have her come for the day, and perhaps a night, and some other things yet to be determined, lol.  Lorenzo had wanted to go to the Milwaukee fair, but he gets in here late on the 10th, and the last day of the Milwaukee fair is on the 11th.  He also has family there he had wanted to visit with, but not sure if he's still gonna do that or not.  I figure the fair is out of the question, as I don't see him wanting to get up real early the next morning to go, when he'll get in so late the night before.  The drive to Milwaukee is about 6 hours or so I would expect.

Well, I'm not feeling well, so I shall save more things for later.  That's all for now.  Go tigers!  We shall see tomorrow if they can win again!  There are some tough games coming up soon, so hopefully they're on a winning streak now.  One can only hope, lol.  Later tater!
